3D Drawing
What is a three dimensional drawing?
We sketch / draw with a pencil, a pen or even a paintbrush on a flat surface.
The line running along a two-dimensional surface may protrude from it a little if it is stitched with sewing thread, wool or string.
But a drawing can only be termed three dimensional when located in space. In space, its negative (void) and positive (the line) become one; one with a shape.
A wire, a branch or a root - materials I’ve worked with for years – are used here, together with the construction and surrounding space – to draw a form, to create a sculpture.
In this group of drawings one can also see curving lines, spirals holding a void – and, perhaps, even an echo of other worlds, microscopic worlds from the fields of chemistry, physics and biology. Close Window
