My encounter with Marcel Duchamp at the Israel Museum wakened my interest and awareness of the concept – READYMADES. His artworks in New York aroused a strong desire to become familiar with his thinking through his writings. I traveled to Philadelphia, where most of his work is to be found. By this time, I had already created readymade-sculptures: scrap iron with additions borrowing name and appearance from Duchamp, but which conceptually conveyed our contemporary reality. “Notes in Valise” reveals the exciting process I went through when combining intellect and art making.
